The Ultimate Guide to Gifts for the Crafter on your List!
Whether you are a crafter or need to shop for a crafter, this guide will give you 10 of my all-time favorites for gift giving for that special person on your list. To see this list in video format, you can watch here.
10) An amazing chair. If you are a crafter or scrapbooker you probably have two modes of working, either standing or sitting - or both! Something that keeps me happily creating is having a comfortable place to sit. Sometimes we take this for granted, and just grab whatever chair is handy, but if you want to give a gift to elevate someone’s craft space, a comfy chair is your answer.
I am currently using this chair from Beautyrest. It is stylish and comfy, and looks great in my craft room. It has a handy height adjustment so that I can sit tall and look down on my work area, which I like. I do need to say it is a little on the firmer side, which can be a good reminder to get up and stretch every so often! Since my daughter has joined me in my craft space, I needed to order another chair, so this time I am trying one with a little more cushion in the seat, and it has the added feature of being able to recline! It has good reviews, so I am looking forward to testing it out.
9) A Comfortable Foot Rest. Along with a chair, I have grown very fond of having a place to rest my feet under my table. This one little item has helped so much with fatigue and to keep my posture corrected while I craft. They are so popular in my house that you will find them in every work, craft and study space. There are so many to choose from on the market, but if you like a solid platform, this is my favorite. And if you like a soft platform, I like this adjustable height one with a washable cover.
8) Tech Accessories. To continue getting the ultimate craft space set up, let’s talk a little about tech, or at least tech accessories. Since many of us have found a space to craft at home, but are staying connected or taking workshops via zoom or the computer, I have some little additions that made a huge impact with my tech items. First the iPad stand. I love this little stand. And once again, so did everyone else in my house - even the hubby (who is quite particular). It comes in some popular color choices to match your device, but I love how sturdy it is, that it is adjustable and puts my pad just at the right height!
For my computer, this stand is a little beefier, and has more adjustments, but again, puts my screen exactly where I need it to watch videos, livestream or just work on my computer. I also love this little nifty wireless keyboard and mouse that gives me lots of freedom with how to interact with my computer. This one is not bluetooth, so does require a little plug-in. But who could resist such cuteness (love those round keyboard keys) for such a good price!
7) Michaels and Ikea Storage. Well you can’t talk crafts without talking storage. A place for everything and everything in its place is my crafting motto. And if you haven’t checked out my craft room tour, you can watch that here. As I have shown many times, Ikea and Michaels have some of my favorite larger storage pieces. I have more on how I use those in this blog post.
6) Iris Carts and Cases. Another storage item that I find exceptionally useful is the Iris Scrapbooking cart and the Iris Slim Cases. The carts I purchased have six slots and come with the cases. I stacked 2 high and then added a Linnemon table top from Ikea, and instantly had a standing height work space that I love. I keep all my projects in these cases and then grab one when I am ready to work. I have seen so many uses from bead storage to craft storage, to my favorite which is scrapbook project storage. Sometimes the carts can be tricky to find, so I also recommend getting a stash of the Iris slim 12x12 scrapbook cases. You have probably seen my pull these out many times, and they are a perfect size for smaller projects. And just a tip, two of the slim cases will fit in the slot where one large case goes, and just gives that much more flexibility! That is what I keep in an additional rolling cart that stays next to my scrapbooking table.
5) Alphabet Dies. This is a recent love and one I just can’t seem to get enough of! Yes, I know that an electronic cutter can do the same, but like punches, sometimes I just like to keep it simple. And I also admit I am just kind of a font nerd. I love fonts, and being able to see and cut a letter or word within a few minutes keeps me crafting!
Here are some of my favorites, and the companies they are from:
Altenew

Bold Alphabet
Classic Alphabet
Fine Alphabet

Large Jane Alphabet

Sizzix/Tim Holtz

Alphanumeric Classic Lower
And just in case you have a tech lover, the electronic cutter that I recommend is the Portrait by Silhouette. It is a smaller format cutter that can sit next to you in your craft area. Its very user friendly, and is perfect for cutting anything you can imagine.
4) Punches. These guys will always have a place in this crafter’s heart. Every time I sit down to create, I end up reaching for a punch to add a layer, texture, title or splash of color. I love the consistency and ease of using punches, and to find out even more about punches and how I keep track and have everything organized in my craft room, you can check out this post. There are so many great brands of punches out there, and some of my favorites are from Creative Memories, Stampin’ Up, EK Success, Martha Stewart and Punch Bunch. I have some favorite designs you can check out here.
3) Stamp-N-Storage Units. This is my latest and favorite place to keep all those punches handy and in sight! I love being surrounded with so many designs and endless combinations for creating. These units are sturdy! And very well made (in the US) and are a custom fit for the type of punch you select. I have units for my Creative Memories punches and border punches, border maker cartridges, and lock-down punches. They have different sizes based on the space you have and the size of collection you have. There is a wall-mount option as well as an Ikea Kallax unit option. Stamp-N-Storage has many other amazing organizers that you can check out here, and while you are on the website, you should check out some of the amazing craft rooms they share. Completely drool-worthy!
2) Forever. Storage, Conversion, Digital Services and Software for your PC. I could go on and on about the services Forever has, but instead invite you to learn more here on my website, and to get $20 off your first order, you can click here. Of the many many amazing products and services they offer, I am most in love with the conversion services. I recently opened my box I received back from being converted, and when I plugged in the flash drive they gave me with all my media on it, my heart jumped with joy! I could now share these amazing memories with friends and family. For far too long all those reels of movies and tapes and cassettes sat around undiscovered. The first movie I clicked to see was one I had never seen. It was from a trip to Tennessee when I was about 6. As I watched, the tears fell down my face as the memory unfolded. I watched a younger version of myself hugging my Mom and our three dogs, playing with my cousins, and learning how to bake a pie with my Aunt Sue. My only regret? Not doing this sooner. I now have the biggest conversion box available on its way, and I can’t wait to fill it up with undiscovered memories.
1) Creative Memories Products. These products are always at the top of my list since my favorite craft is scrapbooking. From trimmers to punches to albums and paper packs, they have some of the best products in the industry. A personal favorite is the 12” trimmer, which I use every time I create, and there are so many features to this trimmer that I had to make a video about it!
